Here's a list of Salt Lake attractions - http://www.saltlakecityutah.org/attractions.htm. A trip to Park City is always a great day. What are you interested in doing?

WackyMac,
Driving up to Snowbird and taking a ride up the tram to 11,000 ft. for the incredible scenery.
go further to the Albion Basin at Alta and walk around to see the wildflowers. We had such a late snowmelt, there may still be some in Sept. Then again, the new snow may start to fall, you never know!
Snowbird also has Octoberfest in Sept. Pretty fun, good food and there is a combo tram/fest ticket you can buy.

Oh, Dayle! I've got the bug and you're not helping
A family member wants me to fly out to Montana and instead of paying the higher costs to get into Billings or Bozeman I'm thinking about flying to SLC. Visit Sundance. Make the drive (I know, I know, but I like driving out west). And then fly out of ???? Calgary? Denver?
I've wanted to see Sundance for years and am surprised at myself for not getting out there before now.

starrs,
When are you thinking of visiting? Lodging at Sundance is extremely expensive (by my standards), but I imagine worth it. The Tree Room is one of the best restaurants in UT and res are necessary.
There is a beautiful waterfall you can hike to on a fairly easy and short trail. There is also horseback riding and mountain biking. Lots of special events and festivals. Outdoor UT symphony concerts and live theater in the summer.
The drive up and over the Alpine Loop from Sundance is incredible in the fall.
Incognito, low profile "famous people" to stumble across sometimes. Some more incognito than others!

I don't know Dayle. Maybe I should plan it. The lodging is free in Montana so maybe I can splurge in Sundance.
I've always wanted to see the aspens in the fall in the Rockies. Maybe I should put a fall trip on the calendar for 2009 :-?
