Was FRR removed?

Why on earth? There wasn't anything controversial on there this week.

Have I just lost that thread?

Whoa - that's really weird. Well, let me just use this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to the Fodorites this week for giving me such a helpful outlet for all my angst about my mom. I am so grateful that I had this board to use to channel my difficulty concentrating at work, not just on the FFR&R thread, but on the regular travel threads.

Last rave of the day: DH & I will be going to Fla. next weekend on a previously planned Mother's Day visit - can't wait to see her!

Thanks again, everyone.

I can only think that some people are totally unable to respect what the original FFRR was about and bring their own political/whatever agenda to it and it gets deleted. It happened last week, too.

"...some people are totally unable to respect what the original FFRR was about and bring their own political/whatever agenda to it..."

actually this pretty well describes jor(r)'s thread originating post the last couple weeks... can't really blame others for reacting...

Jor started a political discussion, not a FFR&R thread, as I thought it was meant to be. Agree with previous posters that you cannot blame others for then stating their views.

Totally agree with the last 3 posters.

Using the *golly gee willikers*nice-guy* personna, Jor is definitely into his politics as much as any other poster.

Thats fine but maybe its time for FRR to go under travel talk intstead of here.

Isn't this Travel Talk?

I guess that was the problem, the way jor started the thread, but I saw that plenty of people were not talking politics ..
The same thing happened last week and it was not politics..one or two "others" deliberately caused that thread to be deleted

Oh well, FFRR were fun for a long time.

It's a shame because I always enjoy ffrr, but as soon as I see jor(r)'s post I know whether or not it will make it through the day.

Margot and others, glad we could be there for you...most fodorites are GREAT!

Scarlett, this is the United States Forum.

Travel Talk Home is the last forum listed on the drop down menu, on the left side of this page.

Hope that helps.

The FRR has ALWAYS been on the US Forum. There sure was not anything more controversial on this weeks FRR then any other week. Fodor's is really being irritating IMHO. Imagine "someone" wrote in to the Editors complaining about someone's post. How irritating and boring!

Well, Jor started FFRR's so I really can't complain. However I haven't been contributing lately as it isn't fun

Maybe I missed something but the only political discussion I saw this week had to do with oil. And, frankly, I'd have to argue that oil is travel related. After all, is there a means of transportation that doesn't require it? As one who hates to fly and does all her travel by car, oil prices certainly do matter to me. And I know that the price of airline tickets is also effected by the price of oil.

Yes LoveItaly I'm well aware that the FRR has always been on the US forum.

I'm suggesting that maybe its time it's moved to Other Topics.

Apparently *something* was said that wasn't acceptable to Fodors' editors.

Perhaps being on Other Topics would give it a longer life??

Is there a way the editors could let us know what was controversial? I really didn't see anything on this week's thread that merited the yank.
