Keep trying for lodges inside the park at the GC. Tusayan would be next best, but a poor substitute. Don't even think about Flagstaff, it would take you close to 1 1/2 hours to get to the rim from there. Then another 1 1/2 hours back in the afternoon. You wouldn't want to drive back at night because of the possibility / likelihood of large animals along or on the roads.

Hello all

Thanks for all your support and kind help. I completed my trip to USA successfully and back to my country.

I visited San diego, Las vegas, Hoover dam and GC. I could get two nights in GC lodges as I was checkign every day. I stayed in Mashwik and Bright angel lodge. both are excellent.

Overall the trip was very good. Food was terrible overall. Why only potato and chicken breasts even salad is made of potato even in Five star Hotel. Atleast Chicken leg is better I suppose, but nobody eats it?. One exception is whatever I ate in GC lodges was very good right from Chicken burger to dinnet at Bright Angel lodge restaurent. Pancake at Richard walker also Good.

Initally struggled without car and Public transportation is ok but limited in Sandiego. Some areas I felt not very safe. Also surprisingly lot of homeless. it is wealthiest country in the world but still .

Later hired enterprise rent a car and went around everywhere. It really liberates you in US.

People were very friendly and talkative, able to walk around, and had some people go extra mile to help me at stores.

Facilties at GC were awesome went for a trek in BA Trail. it was tough but managed. Excellent experience.

I think US is both heaven and hell in one. I am not sure whether I like it or not, but I did enjoy it.

One or two week is not enough for this country. I look forward to vsit and experience more and more.

Thanks again.
