3 hotels choices: help me pick one!

I am going to New York during Memorial Day weekend. I am 22 and going with my boyfriend who is 24. I have three choices for hotels:

- Affinia 50
- Affinia Manhatten
- the Casablanca Hotel

Which one would you recommend for us and why? Thank you, I appreciate your suggestions!

How come no one on this site ever helps me? I understand that some of these hotels have been reviewed before, but they've all gotten good reviews, that's why I wondered which would be the best out of the three. Lots of people ask stranger questions than this...

I've never stayed there, but from reading other posts and the reviews on TripAdvisor, the Casablanca sounds like it appeals to the younger set.

People don't help you because the title of your post is way too vague. The 3 hotel choices could be anywhere in the US and people won't bother to open a post that that may refer to an area they have no idea about. Next time you post be specific in your title, i.e. Need help with 3 NYC hotel choices.....

I thought I did choose that the category should be New York because I highlighted...I guess not?

The category only works for the Search function. All posts end up on the US board so when people are scrolling through posts they have no idea which category you've chosen so they'll have no idea what area you are referring to.

I'm not trying to be tough, just letting you know for future reference that when you post, be specific in your title and you'll get more responses. Good luck with your trip!

Actually, that's really helpful - I had no idea that was the case. Next time I will try to be as specific as possible in my title.

All of the hotels are nice. The Affinia 50 and the Affinia Manhattan are suite hotels so most if not all rooms have kitchens and some extra space if that's something that appeals to you. The Casablanca is the closest to the Times Square area, appealing to many tourists.

In addition to the suite/no suite issue, location is the other difference. The Aff. Manhattan is near Macy's, ESB ---the Affinia 50 is the closest to Central Park and it's also close to Bloomingdales while the Casablanca is near TS. The Casablanca is getting very good reviews on tripadvisor.com these days. It's a small boutique hotel and they do have free wine and cheese in the afternoons and I think a free continental breakfast.

Affinia 50 and casablanca are nice choices. If the Affinia Manhattan is the Affinia across the street from Penn station i would stay away from that.way to noisy and the area is not the greatest.affinia 50 and casablanca are close to subways.Their locations are very different.i believe casablanc is in the theatre district and Affinia is located on the east side on a fairly quiet block with other hotels on it one block from the Waldorf Astoria. Most New Yorkers would prefer to stay there but if you are visiting NYc for the first time time square is alot of fun.Check out Trip Advisor.com.

They're all near a subway station. I agree the Aff. Manhattan is probably least appealing location. Either of the other 2 are nice. I have heard the room sizes at the Casablanca are smallish unless you get a junior suite. The Casablanca is near the theaters and a lot of the typical tourist venues (like bus tour offices etc.) if your plans are to do the "typical" tourist stuff. The Affinia 50 will be a bit more like living like a local.

Thanks! That is extremely helpful, since I hate being a tourist but love being close to a subway. The free breakfast lured me in at first, but I found the people on the phone at the Casablanca kind of curt and obnoxious. I read all the TripAdvisor rave reviews, but that doesn't really mean that much to me in the end. The Affinia 50 seems to be a bit better because you get two beds, too, so when my boyfriend is snoring I can run to the other bed!
