3 - 4 hours in Chelsea, NYC

SOS.... We will have just 3 -4 hours in the Chelsea section of NYC next Tuesday and we are trying to find things to do. Any ideas?

Many thanks!

A walk on The High Line should top the list of things to do in that area.

The Red Cat, 10th and 23rd, is a great place to stop for drinks and/or lunch/dinner. Be prepared for extreme heat on the High Line or any other outdoor venue. Tuesday's forecast is for an afternoon high of 95˚ with only a 10% chance of rain. ("Sports after this short break.")

Chelsea is where all the art galleries are - some great stuff. Also, Eyebeam has up an interesting interactive exhibition about water. It's a traveling exhibition from Trinity College Dublin:

Easily combined with a jaunt on the High Line, which runs north-south through the area.

Will you need a meal in the area? Or maybe just snacks? If the latter (and even if not LOL), check out Chelsea Market! (And you can get on the High Line right outside.)

Visit the Chelsea Market15/16th streets between 9th and 10th avenues.
There are many art galleries between 10th and 11th Ave, from 21st north for several blocks,..i.e.,Gagosian on 21st . Look at TimeOutNewYork for gallery listings.

Who's going, mrsgo? I loved the free, fashion museum at FIT but I realize it's not a place a lot of men might enjoy. Although, if you wait until the end of September, mrgo might enjoy the Ivy exhibit.

As everyone had noted there are many things to do. There are buildings in Chelsea where you can start on the top floor and walk down where every space is a gallery. Another good restaurant is the Cookshop.
