I just heard it is 125 degrees in Death Valley. Why so many foreign tourists like to visit Death Valley in the summer?

Milwaukee, WI vicinity weather: 96 degrees, "feels like 110 degrees" according to the Weather Channel, due to the 77 degree dewpoint and 57% humidity. No breeze. Thunderstorm predictions this afternoon. One can only hope!

This morning the famous USA Today color weather map showed the entire lower 48 in red and orange. I see some black-outs comming soon.

A sure sign for me that its too hot is when I leave my car in a parking lot with the windows open and open for thieves!

Hi jorr, well the weather channel shows we are only going to get up to 100 degrees today so it is going to be a bit cooler, lol. Actually yesterday ended up being 107 not 110. I feel so sorry for everyone that has to work outside all day.

LoveItaly-Could I please tap in to some of your air conditioning ?

Yesterday, I think I melted and lost consciousness about 3PM. Just slipped away...the lovely guy who is re-landscaping my yard stopped by
to check some measurements and wanted me to go outside with him-
"OUTSIDE ?!?"

When I came to, there was Mr R5 with a glass of ice water. Thoughtful, yet I would have preferred a

Very, very few have AC here at home. This was the second day so far we were over 100. Quite unusual for us.

I'm so sorry!!! I live in Texas, but about the most miserable I've ever been was when visiting the in-law's lake house in central Minnesota the summer of '95. I was quite pregnant, and it was "only" 95, but no place was air conditioned...not the house, not the cars, not the stores, not the restaurants. We ended up driving into Brainerd, just so we could go to the air conditioned Pizza Hut!

Argh, the official temp in Boston is 94.5 at 4:30 PM and I believe that the official temp is recorded at Logan Airport, which is surrounded by lovely temperate ocean waters. My backyard thermometer in the shade definitely hit 96 earlier today.

Still, ten days ago I was driving the RV home through Kansas, Missouri, etc., so it could have been worse! I have spent the day hiding in one of our AC rooms.

Oh razzle, I was thinking of you last evening! At least here where I am everyone has a/c as do all the businesses etc. I would have had to left town if I hadn't so I can relate to how you felt. But I dread to see my PG&E bill but I am not alone on that. Take care of yourself. And get yourself to the coast dear one!!

Hope all of the US cools down quickly, this weather we are all having is torture! Don't forget to drink lots of water.
