solo traveling in Rome
I'm planning a last minute trip to Rome and somewher south like Amalfi Coast. Is this a safe trip for a single female?
If anyone has any suggestion for an itinerary and hotels would be appreciative. I'm thinking 3 nights in Rome and 3 somewhere south.
Thanks!

Rome is fine for a solo woman. The hotels right in the city would be a good place to stay. Don't worry, there are many single females in Rome having grand times.
The AC is wonderful too, take the train to Naples and then a commuter train (Circumvesuviana) to Sorrento and stay there or take a local bus down to Positano or Amalfi.
Have fun

I spent 4 nights on my own in Rome last fall as a newly divorced woman, and it was completely fine. I stayed at the Hotel Due Torri, which was perfect. It was in a great location, just 5 minutes from the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, so I felt safe coming and going to dinner on my own. The price for a single room wasn't outrageous for being in the center of Rome, the staff were very helpful and nice, the room was small but fine for me and had a beautiful large terrace (I was on the top floor). If you want to know anything else, email me. Pam
