solo traveling in Rome
I'm planning a last minute trip to Rome and somewher south like Amalfi Coast. Is this a safe trip for a single female?
If anyone has any suggestion for an itinerary and hotels would be appreciative. I'm thinking 3 nights in Rome and 3 somewhere south. Thanks! |
Rome is fine for a solo woman. The hotels right in the city would be a good place to stay. Don't worry, there are many single females in Rome having grand times.
The AC is wonderful too, take the train to Naples and then a commuter train (Circumvesuviana) to Sorrento and stay there or take a local bus down to Positano or Amalfi. Have fun |
don't forget to stop by capri and pompeii while you are down in the amalfi coast.

I spent two weeks in Rome with a 3 night trip to Naples last November. It was great. No problems being alone. Everyone will give you copious warnings about Naples, but as with anywhere, if you use your head, it's fine.

I spent 4 nights on my own in Rome last fall as a newly divorced woman, and it was completely fine. I stayed at the Hotel Due Torri, which was perfect. It was in a great location, just 5 minutes from the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, so I felt safe coming and going to dinner on my own. The price for a single room wasn't outrageous for being in the center of Rome, the staff were very helpful and nice, the room was small but fine for me and had a beautiful large terrace (I was on the top floor). If you want to know anything else, email me. Pam
