Looking for rolling duffle

I need a sturdy rolling duffle for my next trip to Africa. Anything between 28-30” would be good. Anyone has suggestions on a duffle that will hold up?

Check out L L Bean. We have some of their duffels - however, not the rolling duffels. The ones we have are the same design and fabric etc as the rolling ones. They are very sturdy. They come in various sizes and many different colors and patterns.

Luggage is one things I insist on buying in person (not ordering online). I have to look at how the bag is laid out, the pockets, handle configurations, etc. Even though you need "sturdy" I would also try to seek out one that is a lightweight as possible. Also 30" is a pretty darn HUGE bag. Couldn't you maybe get by with more like 25-26" or take two smaller bags. A 30" fully packed may well bust the 50 lb. airline limit for the flight over.

Kathy, do check out the BRX Expedition duffle (http://www.briggs-riley.com/category...-Duffle_BUD128 ). It’s 28”, so just the size you need, and comes with wheels. Besides, it is specifically designed for adventure trips and can withstand the roughest of travel conditions. Enjoy your trip!

My top picks for an African Safari-kind of sojourn are:

1. Briggs & Riley’s BRX collection
2. Osprey
3. Eagle Creek

You may also like this wheeled duffel http://www.highsierrasport.com/produ...r=5526&lang=en from High Sierra. It has a separate pocket for wet clothes/shoes that might prove handy.

Hi Kathy, you can have a look at this bag http://www.rei.com/product/764908 too. It has a main compartment with lots of storage space and other pockets to store small travel essentials.Check it out!

I love my 30" Eagle Creek rolling duffle. I have had it for 6 years now and it has been the equivalent of round and round the world many times and still looks pretty new. When it was new it got a slash in it somehow and it was repaired by Eagle Creek no questions asked. I believe they still have a full guarantee. I rarely get over 50 pounds and quite often between 40 and 44 but the space is there if I need it. It is quite light as it does not have a lot of pockets and extras inside.

Thanks everyone, but I think I have made up my mind to go with the BRX rolling duffle. It looks quite sturdy, perfect for the kind of trip I am going on. Besides, the offer of lifetime warranty was just too good to pass up!
