Just got back from my honeymoon in Bora Bora. Long flight from Oregon but the Pearl Beach Resort was worth it. Beautiful and relaxing. Probably won't be able to afford the $20 dinner salads though. Kauai is also another more affordable selection. TRy a timeshare in the Princeville area and go to Hanalei Gourmet in Hanalei for a Mai Tai and Shrimp Boil. Hanalei Dolphin is another great place and the hike at Kee Beach is spectacular! Best of luck!

My hubby and I honeymooned on Moorea and Bora Bora also (in Oct 04). Breathtaking, unreal lagoons. Snorkeling was out of this world, it seems like a dream now.
We went to a wedding in Madison, Wisconsin on the campus there last summer. Beautiful, fun, lively.... just an amazing wedding.

Honeymooned in North Cyprus.
I also would recommend Turkey for a wedding & honeymoon or familymoon.
I also would like to visit Bora Bora one day, especially if I could have my own hut on a jetty....
Happy Travelling

I'd have to say the nicest place I traveled to for a wedding was to Bethlehem PA in the month of December. What a quaint little town covered white with snow. It was so picturesque for a winter wedding.
My wedding / honeymoon was in Bermuda. We were married in front of the Sonesta Hotel (beautiful beach front location) and walked through a moongate after saying our vows. Then we took a horse and carriage ride to our hotel which was the Pompano Beach Club. The photographer followed us from the Sonesta and met us at the Pompano and took our photos on the beach as the sun was going down. I have breathtaking photographs. Bermuda was just perfect for us since we live in NY. Bermuda is only 2 hours away. No jet lag. Pink sand beaches. Ahhhh! I loved the people of Bermuda. Very nice and very accommodating. I would defintely recommend it.

Stammer-
Italy for me is great any time of year, but many places would be closed on the Amalfi coast by Nov....not sure it would be swimming weather either then.
Depends on what you are interested in for your honeymoon experience.

My husband and I honeymooned in St Lucia at the breathtaking Ladera REsort 1,000 ft above the Caribbean between the Piton peaks. Ladera is VERY roamntic with one wall open facing the caribbean. St. Lucia looks like it is in the South Pacific but you are in the Caribbean. We have a trip report and lots of pictures. Just email me at [email protected] and I can give you the link.

Best wedding location for me was right outside of Bamberg, Germany. The ceremony was in a small village (population ~300) about an hour out and then the reception was at the fantastic castle in the hills! Amazing!

The msot beautiful wedding I've ever been to was in an enchanting little church in Gougane Barra in Co. Cork, Ireland. The church holds about 30 people and it is set in a forested park on the water. With moody grey skies and the raw natural beauty of the surroundings it was a powerful and grand backdrop for an intimate candlelit ceremony.

Hi
My wife and I went to the Maldives a couple of years back and that was amazing. It will take a lot for us to find a better beach vacation. The beaches were white, the ocean so blue...it was just like the postcards. I have posted a trip report with some pictures on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com/sun_island_index.htm .

krissykris and lynnejoel1015: how long were you in Bora Bora? We would love to go there for our honeymoon, but neither me or my future husband can devote a month to honeymooning (even though we would love to!) and the flight seems long for a week/two week long honeymoon. I want to enjoy the trip there, so is it better to go later when we have more time to stay?

Best place I've ever been to a wedding: Positano, Italy. Gorgeous and romantic.
My honeymoon destination: Paris, the Loire Valley, Brugge and Amsterdam in two weeks. It was a pretty active trip. My favorite part was Paris (of course) and especially the Loire Valley, which was so lovely and romantic. I would definitely recommend it. We stayed at a place called Chateaux des Ormeaux near Amboise which was really special and loved touring the castles, wineries and little towns in the area.
