Limited Travel Insurance

I am looking for a travel insurance police that ONLY covers my airfare and apartment rental. I do not need nor do I want, medical, lost baggage and all the other stuff that most companies offer. I already know about insuremytrip.com, and all the companies on thier site sell packages, not what I want. i know I might be out of luck, but it's worth a try.

When you say you don't want medical insurance, does that mean you HAVE medical insurance? What about evacuation insurance? However healthy you are, you may still have an accident.

I don't bother covering airfare and accommodation costs.

Where do you live? You might try asking on the relevant continent-specific board.

Why don't you call a representative of Squaremouth.com and tell them what you want. I have used them several times with good results.

I have health insurance and will be covered where ever I go. They will also bring me home if needed. I don't want to pay for something twice.

Bettyk,

Thanks, I'll give them a try.

do you have an amex card? I believe they sell trip insurance that you can pick and choose.

Unfortunately, travel insurance polices are designed as packages, and it isn't possible to pick and choose the benefits you need and don't. I know you mentioned comparison sites, and one option would be to visit one and generate a quote for cancellation. Then, select the cheapest policy that will offer the cancellation benefits you need. There will likely be other benefits included, but if you choose an inexpensive policy, they will likely be fairly nominal. This will help keep the premium low.

Travel insurance is beneficial for tourists because you are safe from it.

Amex does indeed have pick and chose, Squaremouth, If you are a cardholder.

EG, I just used it to cover trip delay and baggage loss, only. I had not prebooked very much but was concerned about air travel delays and my camera. It was about 20% less than the cheapest package.
