Two or three nights in Argentina other than Buenos Aires, where to go?
My partner and I are planning a trip to Argentina in early November. We'll spend several nights in Buenos Aires but I would like to go somewhere else for two or three nights and I'd love some advice. Given the time of the year and the length of time we have... I know we should spend more time but we just can't... what would you suggest? Mendoza? Bariloche? Uruguay (not Argentina I know but close)? We don't mind flying or take a ferry or bus or renting a car. I'd appreciate any ideas you all have.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Check the airline schedules before you decide you want to fly somewhere. The 3 LAN flights to Mendoza are (as of 10 days ago), real early in the morning, noon and evening.
You might think of the pampas, such as San Antonio de Areco or one of the estancias; or even both, as I did.

I think we're going to spend five nights in BA, then fly to Mendoza and spend three nights there before traveling to Santiago by road, bus or car, and then fly out of Santiago back to New York at 10:30 at night. Sound like a good plan? I figure an entire day should be enough to make it to Santiago in time for a late night flight back.
Has anyone done this? Should we take a bus to Santiago? Or splurge and hire a car and driver? (not sure that is really an option) Or rent a car although I hear it can be hard to do a one-way rental.
Another question, we could go to Santiago a day early and have a day there. I know it's packing a lot in. Is Santiago worth spending time in?
Your ideas are execellent everyone and very much appreciated. It's clear we're going to have a wonderful time in Argentina (and Chile) no matter where we go!
