Travel Agency: PeruTourism

We are planning a trip to Machu Picchu/Galapago and want to know if anyone has used this agency and would they recommend the company?

Used a local company in Cusco, called Totally Peru. Although we were initially concerned about booking with a travel agent in Peru, they were really good.

They are fine a division of Viajes Pentagrama Lima based

But honestly better reviews on the boards for

www.ancientsummit.com Nina

www.perubesttours.com Mike

www.kuodatours.com

PeruTrek4good Yure Chavez good prices

so do careful research shop around never wire money

and www.insuremytrip.com always cheap and wise..

About 10 web scammers have gone belly up this year

so Caveat Emptor!

Frequently cheaper to book Galapagos separately

with a knowledgeable LOCAL ECUADORIAN provider

Careful even more foreign cruise touts scammers there

than Peru particularly TripAdvisor Galapagos Forums avoid.

www.galapagosXpeditions.com is a good one

www.surtrek.com is another good one

for quality locals...

Have fun,

We used Adventure Holidays Peru (now Adios Adventure Travel) and worked with its owner, Vidal. He did a great job for us. The company is broadening its horizons and I believe now offers Galapagos trip options as well ... I think this is the correct link http://www.adiosadventuretravel.com/...enture-travel/ ... and here's a link to our blog of the trip: http://2totravelperu.blogspot.com/.

If you do a search here for Vidal, you'll find comments from others who have used his services as well.

I had a friend who just used Peru Tourism for a 12 day trip and she could not recommend them more highly. I thought about using them but then decided to book my own trip to save money.

I know that this reply is months after the OP requested info on PeruTourism, but I wanted to relate my experience with this company for the benefit of other travelers. After providing us with a perfect Peruvian adventure several years ago, PT ended their services with us at departure in the airport in Lima. However, due to Hurricane Frances, Miami Internationl Airport was closed and our flight was canceled, stranding us in Lima for nearly a week. The reps at PT worked during this time to find us alternate accommodations, provided a car and driver to ferry us around, and called us every day to check that our needs were being met. Although there were additional charges to hotels and restaurants which our travel insurance eventually reimbursed for, PT did not demand extra fees for their services to us, including the final trip to the Lima airport. When I return to Peru I will look to PeruTourism to plan my trip and take care of me until I depart Peruvian airspace.

I've used this company twice - once for Peru and subsequently for a trip into Chile & Argentina. I was travelling solo, but didn't want to backpack. It was a great service and I was able to tailor it to organise parts of it myself to keep the costs downa nd allow them to book other parts.
