Still more Argentine questions

This time about the northeast: Namely, how much time to allow for each of these.

In the northeast, I want to see the Falls (por supuesto) and the park around them, the missions around Posadas, and the Reserva Esteros de Ibera.

One of the primary purposes of my trip to Argentina is to visit Jesuit Missions, and I anticipate seeing some in Paraguay as well as some in Argentina.

I think three nites in Iguazu to give three full days, and I think one day to see the Reserva. Is this fairly accurate?

Then how much to visit a good range of missions?

Muchas gracias

Three nights at Iguazu is perfect to see the falls. Spend 1.5 to 2 days on the Argentine side. You can see the Brazilian side in 2-3 hours; the bird park is also worth a visit. It is not possible to visit Ibera from Iguazu as a day trip as the distances are too far.

tripplanner--Thanks.

I'm not planning to visit Ibera from Iguazu, but to take a bus, first to Posadas for the Missiones and then to around Ibera.

Any idea of the time to allow for the latter two?

I can't help as we only went to Iguazu. Here is a link to the profile of Brenden an Australian guy whom I think visited the missions area a couple of years ago. It may be of some help. There is also a link to his blog.

crellston forgot the link. Brenden's blog is linked on his Fodor's profile and is well worth the read.

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. One of the items encouraged me to rethink my packing for this trip. If I can get the weight of my luggage down, I can save a lot on airfare and of course on wear and tear on my own self. As I am going alone, I don't care so much if I'm a little dusty and smelly.

However, I've decided just to improvise when I leave Iguazu--take a bus to Posadas or thereabouts, leave when I decide I've seen enough, take a bus elsewhere, etc.

Thanks for the help!
