I see the plane takes us back to BA.. would driving from the falls to Cordoba be crazy.. are there places to see on the way.. someone also mentioned Mendoza.. drive from Cordoba to there?

in Argentina most of the time you have to fly back to Buenos AIRES and then take another
flight to wherever you are going.
DistanceS are hugh ,I suggest to have a map handy and be aware of distances.
What airliner are you flying'....Aerolineas ARGENTINAS had a fly from the US that stopped in
Cordoba before Buenos Aires.

Why not SALTA??? Salta is now one of the most interesting destinations in Argnetina, not only for the Nature but also because of culture, food, architecture...
YOu should considering also visiting JUJUY with the stunning scenery of Purmamarca and the SAlt flats.
One thing is sure, people do not regret about choosing NW!

We spent 3 months in Argentina travelling all over the country by bus which is not as crazy as it sounds. The buses are extremely comfortable with great service including meals, wine etc. if you book a full cama or Ejectivo service then you will get a flat bed which is as, if not more comfortable than many airline's 1st Class cabins. The cost is around 1/3rd of the airfare. Most long distance trips are run overnight so you will save on accommodation costs and time.
I totally concur with flintstones comment re Salta. It was my favourite place in Argentina, way better than Mendoza.
We rented a car and drove a circuit of the region over a week and had a fantastic time. We are from England so the scenery was like nothing we had seen before (I guess if you are from the SW USA then you may not be quite so impressed),
