We have an Avianca flight scheduled to leave Bogota for Quito @ 8:20 am on a Monday. What time do we need to arrive @ airport? Thanks

Avianca will tell you how early you should be there.

Of course the airline will give a time. But I am seeking real life experiences, not the canned "3 hours for an international flight." Have you flown fron BOG to Quito?

Not to Quito nor on Avianca. On Spirit back to the US it was way too much time.

Getting through immigration was really fast.

Probably the biggest time drain is time in line to check in.

Even being conservative I would say head back to the airport @ 3 hours pre departure.

Hope others can weigh in.

We left two hours when flying out of Bogota internationally and it was PLENTY of time. I rarely pay attention to what the airline recommends but we considered two hour to be conservative.
