Driving from Ogunquit to PVD and bypassing Boston...
Checked Freetrip for directions from Ogunquit to PVD and they would have me go thru/by Boston. Assuming there would be alot of traffic that way. What is best way to go, how long a drive is it, and what time should I leave to make a 12noon flight out of PVD? Thanks,

Sorry about the mistake. You do take 495 to 95S to 295. I know this looks longer on the map, but the traffic is much lighter on this route, and depending on the time of day, it makes a huge difference not going right thru Providence. Traffic here can be very heavy.

jd has it. Maine Turnpike to 495 to 95 to 295. It sounds crazy, but 95 does take longer and is a more difficult drive. The Providence part of 95 is one of the worst hiways in America. Lanes dissapear without much notice. It's a crazy road that we all try to avoid.

I think the term" heavy traffic" in Providence may be relative.
I fly into Providence frequently and drive to to a Boston 'burb.
Even driving through Providence at the evening rush hour , I find traffic to be far lighter than I see in the Washington, DC area.
Certainly, traffic will be heavier than in Maine, but it may not be as bad as you think....especially compared to Boston.
