Nervous, inexperienced traveler - plane question.

I rarely travel, my last time on an airplane was 2019. I remember that trip was miserable because one of the flights left 5 hours late and it was blamed on the type of airplane. I'm flying in two days, while reviewing my booking I noticed that three of the four planes I'm taking during my trip are Boeing 737s. That was the plane being blamed for travel woes and crashes in 2019. So nervous traveler, is it a safe plane now?

Welcome to Fodors.

It was the 737Max which was involved in the safety issues -- The Max is a specific model. Most 737's are entirely unrelated to that problem.

In any case 737's and 737Max's are probably the safest planes in the air right now having all been thoroughly examined and 're-certified'.

Pilots definitely won't go up in an unsafe airplane so don't worry and enjoy your trip
