Buenos Aires Birthday Dinner
I'm taking my partner to B.A. for his 40th bday. I'd like to celebrate the special day at a special restaurant. I'm looking for exceptional food (no preference as to ethnicity), great service and memorable atmosphere. I'd like to keep price under $200. Any suggestions from you B.A. experts or frequent visitors. We arrive one month from today!

We will be celebrating mine, on Sunday
I am not sure if the restaurants I like will be open on Easter so we will go maybe Friday or Thursday..or every night lol
The list of choices so far are:
SottoVoce on Libertador/Ayacucho in Recoleta
Oviedo on Berutti for seafood
Sette Bacco on Aguero / Peña ( romantic Italian)

There are many excellent parrillas in Buenos Aires. www.guiaoleo.com. or www.saltshaker.net provide an excellent introduction...among my favorites in no particular order...
1880 Parrilla (San Telmo)
Gardiner (Costanera Norte)
El Establo(downtown/Plaza San Martin)
El Mirasol (la Recova, across from the Four Seasons Hotel)
La Cabrera (Palermo Soho)

Thanks drdawggy. I've been reviewing both of those sites the past week. B.A. is blessed with so many great sounding restaurants.
I'm glad you recommend 1880 Parilla. We are splitting our stay between Bobo Hotel in Palermo and Casa Bolivar in San Telmo. 1880 is on my dinner list. La Farmacia and Cafe San Juan sound like good San Telmo dinner options as well. Have you experienced either?
Scarlett- Happy early birthday by the way...

Scarlett - just have to say: Happy Birthday! I've enjoyed all your posts so much since before my only trip to Argentina, which I loved so much - it was one year ago, can't believe it. Tonight we celebrated my traveling companion's birthday, (the 22nd, not yours the 23rd!) but last year we were in Buenos Aires - at Sucre! Hope all is well with you and that you continue to enjoy Buenos Aires. This year in New York State, maybe in BA again next year!!
