Hi folks,

We are travelling from Australia in early June, starting in Rome. We love to experience the culture, cobblestone streets and beautiful scenery not to mention the food & Mediterranean Sea. The Amalfi coast looks incredible, looking for some suggestions on quieter spots to stay on Amalfi coast or the hills and do day trips, should we hire a boat for one day?
Would love to see an island as well for relaxation , culture & food.
Also would love to do Puglia, if we have time 😂..

Minori and Maiori are smaller towns but the whole area will be really busy in June.
For an island stay maybe Ischia.

Ravello is expensive, but stunningly beautiful. It isn't as convenient for public transportation as other locations on the Amalfi Coast (and I certainly would not recommend using a rental car in that area), but it might be worth considering.

From your other post, I think it would be wise to think of paring your itinerary, not adding to it. Even a brief visit to Puglia would take several days.

You could consider staying in Cetara, which does not get the mass tourism of the more famous towns but is on the bus route. Not many hotels there but plenty of rental flat options., You get the cobbled Main Street which goes from the Amalfi Drive to the beach and is lined with some very good restaurants and shops that locals patronize.

Furore is up in the hills, far above the sea so it has stunning views, and there is at least one very nice agriturismo up there--the Fico d'India.
But it's hard to get around from there by public transport. (I had a car when I stayed there)

There are some other villages in the hills but I'm not sure they have the charm you are looking for......Agerola is famous throughout Italy for its fior di latte mozzarella; but I've not stayed overnight there:. You can walk down to the famous Furore gorge for swimming but the water had some floating debris last time I swam there. Bomerano is another hill village..
