Amalfi Coast: Ravello or Amalfi 2 nights. Hotels?

We have 5 nights on the coast - 3 are booked at La Fenice in Positano. Does anyone have a recommendation for the other 2 nights?

Thanks!

Debra, The Villa Maria is a wonderful pensione
in Ravello if you are not timid in your driving.
I loved Ravello, but the road up there caused my
wife to enlarge her vocabulary. The other option
is to stay in Sorrento and day trip to Capri and
Pompeii. You can not go wrong---have fun.

I'm staying at La Fenice in November (13,14,15,16). A friend of ours recommended this place. All reports are fantastic. I hope you have fun !!!

I was in Positano 3 years ago- I have been trying to come with every excuse possible to move there. PLEASE check before you go to see if a place called Casa Celeste is still open. It is a tiny pensione run by an older woman and her son- it was very inexpensive and she cooks and amazing 5 course dinner everynight where she makes everything from scratch including the wine. PLUS you eat outside on a terrace overlookinjg the sea. We didn't eat anywhere else the 4 days we were there. It was the best spot I have ever found- I only spoke french and English and she only spoke Italian but we got along well enough for her to send me off with a bottle of her wine for the advent of my sister's first child. We still talk about that trip. There is also a small shop in town near the beach that handmakes shoes- they are great (I bought driving moccassins that make ralph laurens look like jcpenney specials) Other places to see/visit- go to Vietri for the beatuiful pottery that costs a fortune in the states and steer clear of naples. Also visit the local wineries along the way and buy some limoni - local after dinner drink. have a great time- I am jealous!!

I hope it's not too late to tell you about Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi. It is absolutely beautiful, between the ocean views and their gorgeous garden paths. The price is a little steep, but worth every penny. The town is small, but centrally located to all the spots on the Amalfi coast, and of course, Capri.
Wherever you go, enjoy--I would live there if I could!
