Observations Barcelona

Just got back from a fine visit to the great Spanish city of....... Barcelona
Let me rattle off some observations. relevant and insignificant.

Barcelona is an old city absolutely packed with handsome architecture of all sorts.

Building on grounds of the notable Hospital Sant Pau.

There are no street signs but plaques on the sides of buildings.

Barcelona is a city with Bicycle paths aplenty, making biking an easy mode of transport throughout the city.

The city is mainly flat bit surrounded by mountains big and small.

Taken from Montjuic. Can you spot the black pussycat?

Barcelona's waterfront is one beach area after another.

Barcelona beach on the sea.

Barcelona is a city of art and artists with Antoni Gaudi perhaps being it's most prominent.

Antoni Gaudi's creation - Parque Güell. His other magnificent creation in the background - la Sagrada Família.

Fruits and vegetables, at a good deal, in abundance at local markets.

Local fruit market produce.

And that is the way it went Please add your experience if you want.

**photos are all mine**
Please excuse me for using my least impressive ones for this publishing.

I like the honest mistake because, judging by your beautiful pictures, one must brace themselves to see the beauty of Barcelona.

Do you mind me asking where you stayed?
oh and edit to add, yes I see the little black cat .. so cute

Never mind that. It has been miraculously fixed!. Thanks to whomever!
I found another spelling mistake bit but will let it slide.

Follena, my simple pictures that I posted do not do the beauty of Barcelona justice.

Quick question/comment. I heard that there are a lot of thieves in Barcelona. Is this still the case?

Stayed in the L'Eixample district. I never experienced or witnessed any sort of crime and I was in many different parts of the city. Might have got short-changed once but that is about all. I felt very safe in Barcelona, day and night, but you should probably ask a local about these matters.

As I wrote earlier, Barcelona is a very bike friendly city. In fact, I will go as far to say that it is a very green city. Something other cities around the globe should take heed of, especially first-world countries such as the U.S.

A bike path that is separate from the road and tram-car tracks.

Barcelona like many European cities is known for bing rife with pickpockets and so you should always be aware of who/what is happening around you. We have also stayed in the Eixemple area which is a wonderful location, easy access to train and metro, lots of cafes and restaurants, shops and of course some beautiful architecture including several of the well-known Gaudi locations.

We had no problems ourselves but we did see a man in the Paseo de Gracia station looking for police as he realized he had been the victim of a pickpocket and he was pretty frantic.

I never wrote that the fruit was local produce. Both times I wrote that the "market" where I bought it was "local"!

One should never leave wallet/documents anywhere where a pp could get their greasy hands on it.

John Lennon shows up in different places around the world, Barcelona included.

A glimpse of the port from Montjuīc.

Another interesting thing I noticed, was at the airport, where I saw a large outdoor smoking area that was in the middle and enclosed by the airport. It almost made me want to be a smokier again when I saw such frill that didn't exist at other airports that I have been to.
