Tropea to Matarea. Where to stay?

We would like to spend a few days next week exploring the toe of the boot. We will be driving from Monopoli and are hoping that there is a nice spot in between tropea and maratea where we can stay and so visit both locations. It is quite a distance between them and between them and our current location. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Where will you go after Tropea?
if your final destination is Sicily, you visit first Maratea and then Tropea, if ist FCO, you visit first Tropea and then Maratea.
I don't see any reason for a stay BETWEEB these places.

I stayed in Amantea and would recommend for a night or two.

If you are looking for a lunch spot between the two, I highly recommend La Locanda di Alia in Castrovillari, which is inland, so good if you are taking the autostrada, which we did.

Thank you. We are returning to Monopoli after visiting Calabria, and its a 4-1/2 drive there and back. I hate to waste half a day on the road
