Muakegon or Saugatuck, MI?

This week our ferry from WI lands in Muskegon, MI @2:30 PM. Any recommendations on whether to stay there or drive down to Saugatuck, MI for the rest of the day/night before heading east to Buffalo, NY the following morning?

I do not know what you are referring to - dcds?
I do see there is music at the park on Wed. in Saugatuck and that we would enjoy. I should have chosen my words better in my request on the lounge - I don’t expect much activity on this forum. Thanks for your response!

It's about an hour drive, unless you stop in between at Grand Haven or Holland.

tomboy, we don’t mind the drive. The miles to Buffalo, NY from either Muskegon or Saugatuck are about the same. Just wondering where the most interesting location to visit and stay might be.

Or, if you didn't want to see Saugatuck, you could just hop on I-96 in Muskegon and 4 hours later be in downtown Detroit.

Our ferry lands at Muskegon at 2.30 Wed. but as I looked for night life, things to do, I think I’d like the artsy feel at Saugatuck more, but if you have some experiences in either location, I’d appreciate hearing them. Detroit is not on our radar this trip. TY

I have not been to Muskegon since I was a kid so I cannot comment on what is there. Saugatuck is beautiful. There are many little shops, galleries and restaurants. During the week it is much quieter than on the weekends.
