Please recommend a destination for us

Hi! We are 6 adults: 2 active seniors; 2 parents; 2 adult young men - with diverse interests. (close, comfortable beach; local color and shops; hiking; adventure; shopping; walking to nearby restaurants; sightseeing of area; ) We are hoping to learn where we can rent a 3 -4 bedroom , attractive pool home, in April or May; or late November , where weather would be conducive to a comfortable family vacation. Italy? Cinqueterre?
Any ideas?

Thanks so much!!

I don't think there is any place in Europe where it is pool and beach weather in those months. Your best bet for what you want might be Sicily in May.

You're not going to the beach basically anywhere on mainland Europe late November. Even if you're lucky and it's warm it might rain

April? Maybe a Greek island , southern Spain or Sicily

May you could basically draw a line south of Rome. Early May or further North the more weather risk

The safe thing if beach and pool are important would be something like the Canary islands. But you're unlikely to find many heated pools.

Never been, but Lagos, Portugal, sounds interesting in May.

Go to Lanzarote! I'd never been interested in Canarias before but we had a smashingly great stay on that island last year. It's got architecture, volcanoes, wineries, sandy beaches and rocky beaches, surfing, glorious gardens, and a big range of rental properties near the beaches. High rises are banned on the island, so no ugly concrete canyons. Wonderful food. Many locals speak English. Some great restaurants--meat and seafood. Very cheap flights from the mainland. And it will be beach weather.

Where else in Europe can you find camels?

The good thing for you is that April/May, outside of the holiday week, is low season. So prices are lower and availability high. There are many, many houses with pools.
There are hiking opportunities...

I was going to suggest looking at the Canary Islands.
Be aware of the waves in late November. April or May would be delightful on any of the islands, even the over touristed ones if you get away from the really touristy bits.
We loved La Palma, especially the west side of the island, but we haven't been back since the volcanic eruption, though my son has and he still loved it. Not pool weather probably but my family have swum in the sea there in November, and in March! The locals swim all year round if the sea isn't too rough.
Where are you coming from for this trip? If the US and with only five days I would look at Central America maybe - Costa Rica?
