Would like suggestions for Mexico vacation

My friend and I are planning a trip to Mexico this winter. We are both single, young professionals and are looking to relax and have a good time. While we would like to go where we can meet other single people and see some sites, we do not want a beer guzzling/fraternity type environment. Price generally is not an object, but we do understand that more expensive generally means more couples. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Playa del Carmen might be what you are looking for. There is a great website on the area - www.playadelcarmeninfo.com. Mexico is a wonderful country - have fun.

Playa Del Carmen is a great suggestion. You should also check out Isla Mujeres!

Thanks a lot. You guys are pretty good. In the past day or so, a few people have mentioned Playa Del Carmen as well. As for Brasil, I'm going in April and am very much looking forward to it.

If beach is not at the top of your lists: San Miguel de Allende is very special.

My hubby and I stayed down in the Mayan Riviera area, about 15 mins ($15 one way taxi ride per couple) from Cancun. The water is not as beautiful, but the resort was supreme! Check out the Moon Palace resort (all-inclusive is the only way to go). Staying South of Cancun is quiet and classier. We never left the resort some days.
