Villa for a Honeymoon???
I'm quickly trying to find accommodations for my honeymoon the first part of June. I'm really interested in renting a villa with a pool as opposed to going to a hotel-type resort. We want the privacy and relaxation. But I'm concerned about going somewhere out of the US on my honeymoon and being "on our own" in a private rental. Also, another concern I have is that all of the villas have such an open air design - what kinds of problems with bugs, mosquitos, or animals for those types of villas in/around Puerto Vallarta or Sayulita the first part of June? Any suggestions?

As long as the villa is not tucked into the jungle, you won't have a bug problem. Many villas offer A/C as well.
Sounds you're concerned with safety, this is not something you need to worry about in Puerto Vallarta, some other places in Mexico, maybe but not here.

Is it feasible to confidently venture out from the villa in Puerto Vallarta? I only know very little Spanish and a bit concerned about getting lost while out, etc. I just don't want something stupid to ruin a special week. Are the beaches nice? Many pictures I've seen look likt it's dark murky water. I'm also worried about food and getting sick from water/vegetables/fruit while there. I've been to Mexico City and Cuernavaca on a big group trip, and I know it was a major concern. But we were with locals who watched out for us and helped get us around. I won't have that security blanket on the honeymoon.

Would someone take a look at these two villas and give me some honest opinion on location, etc. They seem too good to be true. Please help!!!

I've been to PV only once. These are a very good deal, but this is probably the deal...they are up on a cliff, not exactly on the beach. The water in PV is murky.
Why don't you stay at a small, intimate hotel where you can get services and not be on your own in a villa?

My choice is to always stay in a villa/house. All the trips I take, I try to find individual houses to rent. I've done that in the Smokey Mountains, Colorado, and again in Hawaii last September. They have all been wonderful experiences - much better than being in a hotel.
