luxury villa rentals in Puerto Vallarta

there are 3 couples in our group and we will be in P.V. early September. We are having a really tough time finding a luxury villa (beachfront) in P.V.
There are a lot of websites with wonderful photos and descriptions however once we talk to the agent, we never seem to hear back from them!
This is our first trip to P.V. and we only have a long weekend - Friday to Tuesday - $$ is not an issue but what's up with the agents? We all have our plane tickets and it's been three weeks since we've talked to these agents and still no response. We're even considering going somewhere else but have heard good things about P.V. so would really like to go.
Have been to Cabo several times and usually stay at the Esperanza.
any and all suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Most houses rent for a week, usually sat-Sat and very few are beachfront. Would you consider a hotel since your stay is so short?

we do have reservations at the Four Seasons just in case but thought it would be nice to share a villa with the other couples. All the places we called told us the villas were available for rent for the 4 nights.
we're getting very frustrated - one agent got upset that we called another agent but we gave her 2 weeks and not one call back.
Is this typical?

We have rented houses in Mexico for years and have never had any problem getting responses from owners or agents. Are the villas in which you are interested near the 4 Seasons? If so, you are a long way from PV but I am guessing you aware of that. I would be concerned also. Are you dealing with an agency or individual?

Who are you working with?

Have you looked at:
Trip Advisor's forum for Puerto Vallarta or www.vallartaonline.com or www.puertovallarta.net?

You do realize that the Four Seasons is over 1 hour outside Puerto Vallarta (Jalisco) in Punta Mita (Nayarit) right? Not saying that's bad, but if you were interested in spending time enjoying PV, well that's not really it because it is so far out.

thanks Suze for the links. My sister went on a couple of websites for Punta Mita villas. We realize it's a ways out but thought it be bit more "private and quiet".

Finally found an agent thru one of the links from Suze.
www.casahelga.com

Villas of all shapes, sizes and price AND she responds quickly to emails.

Oh good. I recognize the name from friends but don't know it myself.

Definitely staying outside town is more private and quiet, for me I would want to be close enough to at least (easily) spend some time in town because I enjoy that alot too.
