Trip to Costa Rica- with 3 daughters
We have a trip planned for May 24 to June 5th
We have 3 teenage daughters(21-18-16) and I surf.
Staying in Playa Hermosa @ Fuego del sol(2 nights). We then are going to manual antonio
were my daughter & I will meet my wife and two other daughters. Need to know where to stay in Manual Antonio. We are beach lovers but would also enjoy a beach view . My question is to stay on top of manual antonio or be towards the bottom with easier beach access.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
What is the best surfing beach in the area ?
What is the best beach for the family?
It would help if the hotel had some night life for the kids( not to much)
We then are driving to Arenal for two nights 3 days and then on to Tamirindo. We are looking for 3 star resorts, would love to stay @ 4 star hotels if they are worth it.
Please recommend hotels in these 3 areas.

Seems to me a more logical progression would be Manuel Antonio to Tamarindo, then on up to Arenal and back to SJO.
Most hotels are up above the beaches of Manuel Antonio, but it is a short shuttle down to the beach. We especially like the 2nd beach inside the park. Nice and gentle. Wildlife all around.
Tamarindo, check out Hotel Pasatiempo for a moderate price. Jardin de Eden gets good reviews as does Capitan Suizo and Cala Luna.
Arenal, hard to beat Arenal Paraiso for location and price. . .
If you are not set on Tamarindo, Flamingo Beach Resort (about 30 min) north at Playa Flamingo is a great resort with perfect beach access. Reasonable as well--we stay there for a few nights every summer.

thanks, we are flying out of Liberia at the end of our trip that is why we choose Tamirindo. Is the area north of Tamirindo prettier? I surf so I am also looking for good surfing beachs.

Oh yeah, that makes sense. Sure.
Supposed to be excellent surfing up around Witch's Rock. Think that's further north of the area I was speaking of. Just thinking that, if you are wanting to do some hiking in the Rincon de la Vieja, plus be a heck of a lot closer to the airport in Liberia, this area might suit your needs. Particularly since you can be in Flamingo in about 45 min. via the Congo Trail. . .
Maybe someone else will chime in about surfing up that way. . . .
