Todos Santos

Does anyone have any recent info on Todos Santos? My girlfriend and I have been handed some information on a couple of places to stay but would like to hear a second opinion. We'd be interested to hear from anyone who's stayed at any of the following: Las Casitas, Alegria, Las Palmas Casitas, or Todos Santos Inn. Please pass along your impressions (good or bad) on prices, location, cleanliness, food, etc. If you've stayed somewhere else that was nice, please let us know.

Any other comments on Todos Santos would be appreciated as well. Food, art, beaches, weather, transportation, etc.

Thank you.

We were in TS about 2 weeks ago. We did not stay there, but did a day trip from Cabo. We loved it. I had been going to Cabo since I was a kid in the late 70's and I was not that thrilled with what has happened there. To me, a lot of the charm was gone. But Todos Santos still has a lot of the ambiance I liked about Cabo twenty years ago. It is a very artsy community with an historic downtown. A Canadian couple bought and restored the Hotel California and did an amazing job---a must see. There are some very good restaurants there as well. If you go be sure to see the Cultural Museum. We found the arts and crafts to be a notch above Cabo and cheaper too. If you surf, there are some great breaks there.

Sorry, can't offer any info on accommodations there, but I would consider staying there over Cabo if I go back.

Thanks for the reply. Do you always stay in Cabo when you go down to Baja? If you go anywhere else: where, what time of year, transportation? I would love to know where you like to stay and eat.

Consider La Paz! I'm no expert but spent a couple weeks there a couple years back. Beautiful 'normal' Mexican town on the Sea of Cortez.

Thanks for the reply. Tell me about La Paz, sounds like you had a good time there. We're open to anywhere as long as it's on the coast in Baja. Let me know what did and didn't work for you when you went to La Paz.
