The Cocker Hotel, Home, or Art Suites

Hi -
My husband and I are going to BA for a 3 day trip to look at real estate in the northern suburbs. Can you please tell me your thoughts on these hotels including locations and services, also other opinions are welcome - shopping, etc. Thanks!

Good options. You have clearly been doing your homework.

Cocker Hotel. Newly opened. San Telmo location, which is a bit dicier than Palermo Soho...but an up and coming area.
Good rates! Maybe you could go and write a review if you choose this option. I have this on my list of places to stay in BsAs on a future trip

Home Hotel. Palermo Soho. Spa and pool. Nice Restaurant and in a trendy area with lots of designer shopping and cutting edge restaurants. One of the best boutique hotels in Buenos Aires in a super trendy part of town.

Art Suites. Barrio Norte. More an Apart hotel than a hotel perse.
Friendly, helpful staff but services and ammenites are minimal compared to the Home Hotel. No pool. No restaurant. No spa. No room service. Not far from Recoleta or Ave. Santa Fe. Very quiet street.

drdawggy nice to see a familiar face (I recognise you from TA).

squashmom I have booked the Cocker hotel for my last 4 nights in BA, the guys that run the hotel have been very helpful so far as I am going in January the room I originally wanted is already booked but I have managed to get the one with a balcony and small terrace and the rates are very good!!

Thanks, Patsey. I do get around. I like talking about the wonderfulness of Argentina.

Buenos Aires has taken some major leaps forward in the past several years in terms of lodging...several outstanding, small boutique hotels have opened and more are coming on line almost weekly. There are several new four and five star full service hotels as well, with price tags that rival New York!

Can anyone please give me website/contact info for the Cocker Hotel? Also, general price range? I couldn't find anything when I searched Google.

Bobo & Art Hotel are both booked on the dates we can visit BA and I'm starting to worry that we won't be able to find a hotel we like and will not end up visiting.

Thanks everyone. Cocker was booked because the BBC is filming there next week - August 20th - we are staying at Art Suites - really reasonable $119 and the rooms look like a nice size - I'll post a report upon return.

Any suggestions for good hot spots - to get a real flavor of the scene in BA?

I look forward to reading your report on your return.

I wonder what the BBC are filming at Cocker?

Art Suites offers two and three room suites. The rooms are very spacious by Buenos Aires standards.
