Tabacon Grand Spa - STAY AWAY

Stay away from Tabacon Grand Spa. The hotel "claims" it is rated 5 stars, but it is barely 2 stars. The employees, especially the front desk, are incompetent. They don't care if you are in a line waiting for your turn. They will pick whoever they want to help. I expressed that the person they were helping came after me but they didn't care. I think they gave me a crappy room because I complained or else all the rooms are crappy. The food is fast food quality at the restrauants. I've traveled all over the world and usually select high end resorts/hotels, but I have never seen a place run like a bunch of college frat boys having taking a stab at their first job.

Save your money and go somewhere else. It must be resting on an old reputation because this place sucks!

Very possible the person had a bad experience. And obviously he's upset about it. Still, this rant is over the top, and a shame it comes from a suspicious 1st time poster. Yes, I've seen their front desk overwhelmed and slow. Yes, their entry level rooms are adequate but not 5 Star (what I'd call a solid 4 Star). Their suites are pretty darn sweet. Yes, the main restaurant at the hot springs is buffet, but it's good buffet. Food at Los Tucanes can be excellent, and the breakfast, while very expensive, is top notch. And then there's the hot springs and spa.... Simply amazing.
