I've stayed at Shelter From the Storm in Villa las Rocas Abajo. Has anyone stayed in the Monkey House??? And has anyone stayed at Cristal Ballena? We had a cocktail there to watch sunset but wasn't sure if it was a place we'd like to stay? Seemed a bit impersonal but that was only from a brief encounter. Thanks!

hi steph! Yes I stayed in the Monkey House 3 nights and then 3 nights in villas las Rocas (the upstairs) and hip stayed in the downstairs one. I'm trying to figure out how to work in a few nights on my next July trip actually. No ocean view from the MH deck but lots of trees and lots of capuchins & birds. I agree about Cristal Ballena. On our drive to Bosque, we stopped there to have breakfast. Lovely view, grounds were as well but just didn't grab me.

So of course, I'm last minute as usual. Afraid to give up my dates *wink wink* until they are booked...lol but should have the dates firmed up by middle of the week i hope! Actually, we were supposed to go to Amalfi in Sept w/ friends and got some news tonight that may change those plans. That's why we were doing this trip now. I'd really love to go to CR in June/July as we've never been there that time of year...who knows...:-0 You are going to the BdC get together in July then? That should be a blast!!! Yep, going back in July, really lovely time of year. May is my fave but I'll take it anytime! Of course I'm going to the GTG - someone has to keep tabs on shillmac and hip Are you planning to drive from/to Bosque? I really enjoyed that drive between SFTS and PJ, hip and I had a blast going over the OMG bridges, thru the rivers, losing power to the car on the hill past Martina's, etc. Kind of a little sad they've paved a good portion of it now.

Tully - You got some great sloth pics and I love the pic of the horses lined up! I've been in May...that was several years ago when you didn't need reservations...we just drove around w/ another couple and pulled in to places we liked We did have 1 day of some heavy rain. As far as getting there, I'm pretty sure we are going to drive. We did the drive 3 yrs ago when the roads were not as good/ last time we flew. I really enjoyed the drive although Jutta (sp?) had to fix my back when I go to BdC...sigh I hear she is no longer there??? I really need some work on my elbow... reaggravated with a recent auto accident. She is the BEST!

Thanks steph. So cool you're all set for Bosque. Did you get the chance to get a massage when you were at SFTS? She had a masseuse/friend come by and she was really good too. Yeah Jutta is no longer at BdC but she is doing good, ran into her at Pavas in Dec when we had about 3 hours to blow. Grip still like steel!
