Roatan restaurant recommendations
My family and I will be in Roatan from 2/24/05 - 2/28/05 and are staying at the Las Rocas Resort. Can anyone give me some restaurant recommendations? I'm assuming that most places are quite casual but if there are any more upscale places I'd like to know. Otherwise, I'm looking for contemporary american and maybe Italian. Also, is there a great bar on the water that serves big ole frozen margaritas that we should definitely stop at?

Greetings kcapuani! We also are traveling to Roatan; however, we leave on Tuesday, Feb 1st. Hopefully someone will respond to this post ... I'm not finding much info on the web re: Roatan and have the same question(s) as you. I'll post a trip report when I return. If no one responds to this post, I'm more than happy to conduct a "big ole frozen margarita" survey for you

PS: Also looking for great seafood place, local happy hours, local restaurants to experience a flavor for the island.

I went to Roatan last winter and there are an amazing number of good restaurants in West End (Argentinian Grill, Pinocchio's, Dian's Garden of Eat'in are among them).
The best place to get good information on Roatan is at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/roatan/.
