Recommend Renting a Car in Mexico?
We are going to the Mayan Riviera in June. We plan to see many sights, wondering if it would be cheaper to rent a car. Has anyone rented one and would you advise this. Thanks
P.S. We have a 5 yr old.

I'd rent a car in a heartbeat....especially in the Mayan Riviera area. Driving is super easy in this region, though I do recommend being careful and wary if you deal with small car rental operators, though you can often get excellent rates these days by reserving ahead of time through any of the major car rental company web sites.
Have fun!

No, not at all. I don't read spanish all that great either. Be careful of the topes (speed bumps) on the highway - there's usually a sign with bumps on it but not always. Huge ones are by Puerto Aventuras. Also on the Coba road to Chichen Itza. Read up on the rules of the road...especially how to make a left turn or how to allow people to pass you. Very important to stay safe.
