The above is the service I suggest. You can reserve online and pay with your credit card.
The one thing you must NOT do is board one of the cabs which cannot be prepaid at a counter.

I haven't used the service suggested above, but with respect to prepaying at the counter, it was very safe and so on, but there was about a 40 or 50 minute wait for a cab (we arrived around 11 AM on a weekday). So, using an online reservation service to reserve a ride might save you some time at the airport (although I can't vouch for the one recommended above).

Regrarding costs:
There are multiple booths located in the airport that offer transfers to the the city. Each sets its own price, with Taxi EZE at the low end and Tienda Leon at the high end. VIP is in the middle. Worlcar is another option.
I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a car but I am flexible...it one service has a long wait I will use another.

I will definitely use the booths, that is definitely a suggestion I have seen here enough to remember. Thanks for the pricing as well; ArtSuites has a pre-arranged pick-up for $40 but it seems I may be a little better off just using one from the booths.

I checked the list price of Manuel Tienda Leon, one of the remises in the stands, and it is $105 pesos, the difference in not much, $8 dollars, which makes sense because the car from the hotel has to wait for you and pay parking and so forth.
Personally I always use the Manuel tienda Leon remises and pay with a credit car upon arrival.

I would not use Tienda Leon. They charged us 30 pesos more than a radio taxi did for the same distance-to and from EZE. I've read about this company for a while, but cannot understand the good recommendations based upon my experience--just a week ago

Manuel Tienda Leon is the "market leader" in airport transportation and, yes, they do charge more than similar services for other private cars or for a taxi. The current price for Taxi Eze is 88 pesos. The current price for Manuel Tienda Leon is 105 pesos. In between are other private car services, such as VIP and World Car.
Whatever you do...never take a taxi from the curb at the airport. Never.
Always take a cab or remis from one of the booths in the terminal or outside. Always. No exceptions.

Hi, I have no preference for MANUEL TIENDA LEON
They are of course more expensive than a radio taxi taking you to the airport , for obvious reasons, no wait no parking...on the other hand if you call for a radio taxi to wait for you, you will have to pay the ride plus parking, and waiting. They charge by the hour for waiting time. Grant you, it might come a little cheaper than Manuel Tienda Leon, but also as it has happened to me radio taxis or remises might not show up which is terrible. How do I know , ?
Sometimes I ask for a remise to wait for me because I am not going to downtown Buenos AIRES but to Pilar and in this case the fare difference with the airport remises is big, but sometimes even the companies I know and I trust have not shown up.
May the answer is This is Argentina...
