PLS. NEED HOTEL HELP IN MA

NEED TO FIND A GOOD HOTEL. IF YOU KNOW A "SPECIFIC ROOM #" THAT'D BE GREAT! IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE TO SPEND ROUGHLY $120 A NIGHT. I WANT THE BEST VIEWS, CLEAN ROOM. ANYONE BEEN TO MANGO MOON LATELY? I'M THINKING LA MARIPOSA? IS IT WORTH THE MONEY? WE ARE JUST STAYING IN MA, SO WANT TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT.
THANKS FOR YOUR TIME,

la Mariposa has seen better days , it was once "the" place in M.A. , but not so anymore. Mango Moon is very pretty , quaint , and romantic ..... Villas Nicolas is very nice , as well as Costa Verde 2 . Maq beach.com has tons of lodging info for M.A.

We stayed at Mango Moon in Feb. We loved our stay there. The resort is small and is more like a bed and breakfast. The rooms were very clean, we had a two room suite on the top floor. The views are excellent and there is quite a bit of wildlife that comes through. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Email me if you have any specific questions.

I stayed at La Mariposa 4 nights last March. I was VERY VERY unhappy with that place and I would never stay there again.

I liked every other hotel that I stayed at.

We stayed at Makanda by the Sea,villa#10, I think it's double the cost you are wanting to spend though, but it was amazing, great view, great full breakfast included w/price delivered to your room. My sister stayed at Si Como No last year and really liked that a lot, I don't know how much and it gets a lot of great reviews on this board. We had a drink at La Mariposa (it was up the road from Makanda), it didn't look that great and kinda run down, but this was just observing from the outside and at the bar. Great view though.

Good luck, lots of places to stay w/a lot of price ranges.

Makanda is double the price of La Mariposa? The cost of La Mariposa is 250 a night.

250 was for the cheaper room. MA is getting as expensive as Maui. I didn't like MA as much as other parts of Costa Rica.

We stayed at La Mariposa back in Dec/Jan and were disappointed with the hotel in general (especially considering it is listed in "1000 places to see before you die&quot. We stayed 2 nights in their cheapest room, which, frankly, is not that cheap and had NO view, NO hot water, NO water pressure, near the road, heard garbage trucks) and 2 nights in the penthouse (awesome view, fantastic room).

The staff there was not nearly at the level of service we received at far cheaper hotels on our trip. We ate lunch at their restaurant on arrival (we were very hungry) but it wasn't good and the service was bad so we went to some of the other great restaurants in MA (even for breakfast).

Go to Mariposa for a drink but not to stay.

Coste Verde 2
We stayed there last week this is our second time there and we loved it Neta booked our room and it was only approx $100.00 a night for 4 people in a studio plus. We had an amazing ocean view and the adult pool was just outside our porch Watching the surf pound against the shores of Punta Catedral in the early morning light with howler monkeys calling in the distance and white faced capuchins playing and jumping on the roof are memories I will always treasure. The restaurant is excellent and one night while we ate dinner we watched sloth hanging out in a tree just by our table Many evenings between 4 and 5 troups of squirrel monkeys come by the train wagon that's the reception We really enjoyed our stay there Good luck with your decision Ami
