Palace Resorts in Cancun

My husband and I are going to Cancun and were planning on staying at the Moon Palace but I have seen some really mixed reviews. What Palace resort do you think is the best?

I'm leaving day after tomorrow for the Moon Palace in Cancun, although I can't give you any information on it now. My friend is going to a wedding there, and her husband backed out at the last minute, so for the price of an expensive plane ticket, I'm taking her husband's place at the resort.

I'll try to write a brief review when I return. I've read some pretty good things about this one, so I hope the good stuff is all true.

I have stayed at 2 palace resorts, but have visited them all. Moon is my favorite resort, but only the resort. It is far from the resort area of Cancun and only way to get there is by taxi, which get expensive. I preferred staying in town where I could go out to the bars and restaurants. Sun Palace was great because it was at the end of the hotel loop and was more secluded. Fifty cents on a 5 minute bus ride and you were downtown, couldn't beat that. It you want seclusion from town and one of the most impressive pool systems, you can't go wrong with MP. JUST DON'T FALL FOR THEIR TIMESHARE OFFERS and have fun.

If you want to be far from the hotel zone, I'm sure you will like the location. It is a very nice hotel, but the beach is full of seaweed. We stay at the Cancun Palace which is in the heart of the hotel zone but not too close to downtown. There's a lot going on from dawn til night. I've read not too flattering reviews about Cancun Palace, but we love it. The staff is excellent, the rooms are very clean and there is a variety of food to choose from. I've read good and bad reviews about almost every place. So it really depends on the person and taste. If I can answer questions, contact me. Will be happy to help.

WE love Moon Palace! It has so much to do for families. they've done major additions and renovations there the past couple years, and it is really nice. You can view lots of photos and current info on the facebook group, forum for palace resorts. It is situated away from anything nearby, however with all the dining and activities for kids and adults there now, many never even leave the resort. We added a swim with the dolphins there, and it's a big hit for families. The weddings there are beautiful with such tropical landscaped grounds.
