oaxaca coast

The wife and I have been living in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico for 2 years now and love the peaceful and serene atmosphere. Some of the finest fishing, surfing and snorkeling anywhere. Anyone wishing information on this area or would like to plan a visit feel free to contact us. Gene and Darlene

What is Oaxaca like in early October? My fiance and I would like to go to Mexico for our Honeymoon, but are concerned about hurricane/rainy season. Is there anywhere to golf in Oaxaca?

Kitty- Oaxaca City might be a good place to start. Regarding saftey, the City is generally very safe. I have been there many times with no problems. Likewise the Americans and Mexicans I know who live there say there is little crime. I let my teenagers go around by themselves and I have spoken to many students who go alone to Oaxaca for studies and have had no problem. On top of that it is a very interesting place. The colonial buildings are beautiful, the culture is varied, the people are nice, the food is good, etc. Also there are many day trips you can take going to interesting villages and ruins like Mitla, Tlatcolula, Ocotlan, etc.
