san Miguel De Allendre

We are 2 ladies go to San Miguel de Allendre in Feb. for a week.
What should we see, and where should we eat?
Staying in a B&B close to town.
Flying into Leon airport.

I did this another way recently. We flew into Leon and based in Guanajuato with a day trip to San Miguel. Others can tell you more about San Miguel itself, I would take a day trip to Guanajuato, seeing both towns really added to our experience. Taking Primera Plus from the bus station made this easy and comfortable to do.

Thank you how long did the trip between both cities take by bus, and is that where the Talavera pottery is made?

On a first class bus it took about an hour and forty minutes to Guanajuato. I saw lots of Talevera in both Guanajuato and San Miguel. I think the primary place for Talavera is Dolores Hildago, we went there as well, and there was lots. It is about a 35 minute bus ride from San Miguel. As to the above post, I think Puebla is the place Talevera originally was done in Mex. I have done a lot of shopping for it there to me is is different stylisticly and I can see more of a Spnish influence. The work where you are going is very nice with lots of variety and various influences- imho anyway.. have fun

Yes, I should have said this: True, certified talavera pottery is produced only in Puebla. However, high-quality, modern Talavera pottery is also available from factories in other Mexican districts such as Dolores Hidalgo and Guanajuato.

The fabricas in Puebla go through a certification process to ensure Talavera's uniform quality, distinctive style and excellence. These certified fabricas place their name and registry number on each piece they produce.

We loved the restaurant Tio Lucas. They have mariachi music in the afternoon and a jazz band at night. Great atmosphere and really delicious food too.
