Sorry. I was just trying to be helpful. The Thorn Tree attracts travelers who have been to out of the way places like the Corn Islands. For example, here's a link to a recent discussion about safety on the islands: http://tinyurl.com/hdl4e

Thanks for all the advice. The reason I was attracted to Cesar's is that it looked better on the website and it was recommended by CentralAmerican.com. I appreciate the safety device, but have to agree that if you use common sense you should have no problem. Would still like to hear from someone who has stayed there.

Stayed at Big Corn Island for a week, could NOT leave, loved it. Stayed at Sally Peachy, at Yellowtail House (run by the amazing Mr. Dorsey Campbell, who took us lobster and red snapper diving for our lunch for five bucks). Went to the local coconut bread ladies to get fresh coconut bread. Ate tamales from the neighbours. Walked the mangroves. Just loved it. Casa Canada is nearby. Depends on whether you are budget or a little more lux.
Have an amazing time.

I have also visited Corn Island, but it was 25 years ago, so I am sure many things have changed! Though I am sure the water is still crystal clear and warm. Up to that point in my life, it was the most beautiful place I had ever been to. I am sure you will have a wonderful time. Yes, it is a good idea that you check the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree--that was good advice from Pausanias.
