need hotel recommendations for Bogota and Medellin

I am looking for a good hotel recommendation for a hotel in Bogota for 1 night and Medellin for 1 night. So far, my research tells me the Hotel de la Opera in Bogota may be a good bet. Looks like it is walking distance of some good tourist attractions.

In Medellin, it appears that the Park 10 may be a good place but am wondering about how convenient it would be to walk to paces-to-see.

I want decent places but convenient places as well. Any other recommendations?

La Opera is great...if the price is too high, one block over is the boutique Casa de la Botica. Check out write ups here

thank you for the suggeston. The Casa de la Botica looks very nice. I have already made my reservations for Hotel de la Opera so I most likely stay there. I will check out the Casa de la Botica while I am there maybe for future visits. Any experience with any hotels in Medellin?

In Medellin, I´d stick with hotels in El Poblado, as that´s where you´re likely to spend most of your time with just one day.

In Medellin, I´d look at places around Parque 93 or around La Candelaria (though that can feel a bit chaotic at night). Depends on what you´re looking to do.

thanks for the info.

Stircrazy I am assuming your second paragraph you meant to say "Bogota".

Looks like I selected good areas because in Bogota I am staying in La Candalaria and in MDE am staying at Parc10 hotel on Carrera 36 which seems to be in the Poblado area

Someone had suggested we go up on the hill "La Monterreratti" for lunch. what do you think?

Also what about the cable car in MDE or the Turibus to see a lot of the city in the one day that I will be there?

Just an update. Stayed at both the hotels in my original post and was very happy with both of them. The HOtel de la Opera en La Candelaria ended up about $200 for 2pp inlcuding breakfast and the driver from the airport. Gold Musuem was great as well as Parque 93 y la Zona Rosa and Monterrsate

The Park 10 in Medellin was even nicer and came in around $100 including a very, very nice buffet breakfast. Very close to El Poblado.

Would do them both again.
