Need help convincing hubby I'm not crazy

I need help convincing hubby I'm not crazy, seriously! We need a break from work and the house - we need to get away. Sooo, I started looking at some ideas for a quick family trip (2 boys 3 & 5). I looked at Disneyland and Cabo San Lucas for a 3 night trip.

I priced Disney out at about $2400 for airfare, hotel, and park passes. I also priced out Dreams Los Cabos for about $2800 for airfare & all-inclusive hotel (w/ a kids club!).

Now, I say - forget the mouse, lets go to Los Cabos - in less than 2 weeks. He thinks I'm crazy, but I think it's spontaneous and just what we need - the kids can enjoy their activities in the kids club from time to time, hubby and I can have a break and enjoy each others company with our feet in the sand and margaritas in our hands...stay at the resort, just three solid days of total relaxation.

Help me come up with compelling arguments to sway my undecided hubby that we should do this - and quick - before we lose this chance and the rates go up. I have already agreed that the rest of our trips this summer will be around our state/region and we will be camping, so it's not like we have any expensive trips already planned.

Thanks!!!!

CNN reports this a.m. indicate some serious wildfire situations in FL right now and that "Disney is monitoring the situation". I didn't think the situation had progressed to the center of the state but if so the traffic is going to be a nightmare and frankly rather unpleasant. I've never been to Cabo before so I can't comment but I'm a spontaneous person too so I'm rooting for you! Lisa in CR

well, D-land would probably be more fun for kids, and Cabo for you, so decide which is more important.
I'd read lots of rerviews on tripadvisor.com for Dreams before I booked.

Cabo San Lucas is expensive for MX and is quite warm in summer.
That said, we loved Las Ventanas al Paraiso at Thanksgiving '01 - prob unaffordable now.

I planned a trip to Mexico to depart in 10 days...just happened we had the time off.
If you seriously need a break, do Cabo - you'll be ragged after Disney. Your boys (if like my boys) will love just digging in the sand and running from the waves...plus a kids club if they need more entertainment.

pepper's got a good point. Sounds like you need a break, and there's no better place than Mexico for a little relaxation !!!

Woohooo! I think I convinced him that it's ok to take a spontaneous trip and that we can do it! He does not want to go to Disneyland so Los Cabos it is!

I've located all of our passports and I'm off to make the reservations final! Thanks for your comments!

Thanks! Everything is set - no turning back now! My husband still thinks I'm crazy - an opinion he's not likely to change - but at least he's willing to play along! I'll be sure to post a review of the resort!
