Mexico w/18 yrold dtr

I promised my daughter a trip to Mexico instead of letting her go with friends. She's still in high school.

Any recommendations on the best place for a mom & daughter to go? Daughter mainly wants to get a tan! Husband suggest Cancun. Any recommendations on accomendations that are nice, but not too expensive? Do not plan on spending alot of time in the room.

Thanks.

Cherann,

We love PV but are trying Cancun with the kids this year too. I have a timeshare I rent that is very reasonable and sleeps up to 8 on the beach in either place called the Mayan Palce. Let me know if you are interested ans when since I have to check if still available during your visit. It is very safe and easy to get around. I am going with my kids at Christmas time this year. let me know if you want more details.

I don't like Cancun at all, but the area south of Cancun is nice.

Another possibility is Puerto Vallarta. I think it would appeal to both you and your daughter.

Where are you flying from? Sometimes that can be the deciding factor.

We're coming from Minnesota - so that shouldn't really make a difference.

A friend had a great vacation with his daugther, same age, in Puerto Vallarta. They stayed down in 'Old Town' and both enjoyed themselves.

What's your price range of "not too expensive" and do you want a large resort or smaller local hotel?

We are leaving for PV in the morning for the 3rd time in the last 3 years and love it there. I rent our timeshare out for less than you can find a nice 5 star resort for just to pay our maintenance. The Mayan Palace has 2 pools, is on the beach, has a waterslide park and restaurants on site and across for the marina in PV. We are traveling to the Mayan Palace in Cancun in April, so I will have to let you know what that one is like. It is actually south of Cancun in the Mayan Riviera area close to Playa del Carmen. We rent our 2 bedroom lockout for $1200/ wk. which sleeps 8-10 people. It also saves a lot of money with a full size kitchen. The beach is a dream for your daughter in PV or Cancun. You could share it with another couple or family at the same time if you want and both have your own suite. Email me if you are interested in more info.
