Mexico Anyone??

I am planning a trip to Cancun in early October with my two kids, ages 3 and 11 and my parents. I will be 7 mos. pregnant when we go and would love some advice on the best places to stay and things to do with the kids. I looked into the Westin Regina property, it is a little removed from the nightlife and crowded part of Cancun, but still have the opportunity to venture that way if we want to. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Would not recommend Cancun for early October ... big hurricane time. If you must go at that time, why not try Aruba, usually not in line for hurricanes.

same the states, June 1 thru the end of November. September in the past has been the worst month for hurricanes in that region. I would not worry about October.

October is not a bad time to go to Mexico. You chance some bad weather, but not a big chance. Economically, it's a good time to go - you can get some great deals. I will be there the first week of October.

You might look into the Pirate Cruise for the kids. You go out on an authentic looking 1th-18th century ship, have dinner and then another ship comes along and they stage a pirate-style fight show.

If you haven't made your reservations already, the Crown Paradise Club is a great place for families and is in a good location in the south end of the hotel zone. Bus service runs up and down the hotel zone and is an easy and inexpensive way to get to shopping, activities, etc. They run about every two minutes or so.

Have a great vacation in Cancun.

I like October-November-December in Cancun because it's a teeny bit cooler(still hot), unlike July for example when it is unbearable. The Westin Regina is a beautiful, architectually marvelous hotel. Very sophisticated and classy. Do not remember seeing kids, more adults.

Better off staying at a resort on the "calm water " side of Cancun since you have young children and youself (being pregnant) :-The Camino Real ,Presidente Intercontinental , or you might want an all incl (make things easier with kids) the brand new "Riu Cancun" has very good reviews , also Gran Carib Real.

The very best property for kids and families in Cancun is the Crown Paradise Club. They have a water park and tons of activities and restaurants. It's kind of like a cruise ship on land. They also have an adult only pool area when you want to get away from the squeals.
