Hi all,

Needing some advice on all inclusive resorts for my husband and I, 30 yrs old, no children.

We are looking for all inclusive, adults only, manageable transfer from Cancun airport. We would like to stick to 3K (give or take) including flight, room, and AI.

I have looked at:
-El Dorado Seaside Suites (but the transfer looks a little further than preferred)
-The Royal Hideaway
-Excellence Playa Majures
-El Dorado Maroma

Any advice on the resorts listed, or new suggestions would be great!!

I'm not an AI person but having been in that area maybe four times, I agree the Seaside Suites are pretty isolated, being about 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen. Of course the transfer it manageable, though, I wouldn't worry about that at all, so if all you want to do is go to one place and stay there, it will be fine.

I have traveled with some AI folks when doing bus day tours, and actually, if you are going to Tulum or where I went (the flamingo preserve, Lagartos, which they get to by 109) or any of those national parks like Xel-ha, it is actually pretty convenient. It's right across from Xel-ha. So the only drawback is if you want to be near a town with some action. If you don't it's a perfectly good location. So what if it takes you 25 minutes longer on each end. The beach looks nice of that hotel, even though I think all those beds they put on the beach all over that area are stupid, but they do that everywhere.

So I think you need to decide what your priorities are, that's all, for the best advice. Do you want to be in town, or close to it, or not?

I do not care about being close to town. I really want above listed, plus good food and preferably a beach front bar. I do not know why I am hung up on the hour and 10 minute transfer...

Of the resorts you listed I would look into El Dorado Maroma and Royal Hideaway. Both are wonderful adult only resorts on a great beach. They also have fantastic service.

I'm not an AI person either, but El Dorado Maroma probably has the best beach and is a smaller resort. Might also look into CRT (Catalonia Royal Tulum) on Xpu-Ha beach, farther from the airport though, adults only, nice beach (went to a nearby beach club there last month). No dress code.
