Map of Arenal Lava Flow

Hi Fodorites - I'm headed to CR in June and I've been taking notes from all of the CR junkies on this site. I found a cool website and thought I'd pass it along. It is http://www.arenal.net/arenal-costa-rica-map.htm and it shows a map of the lava flow at Arenal, along with the locations of hotels in the area. It helped me get an idea of where everything is situated. The lava flow map says it's current so I hope the info is accurate! If anyone is interested in discussing CR with me, reply to this blog!

Hi jwell,

Arenal.net seems to keep their site updated fairly well for the most part. The 'CR junkies' are familiar with that site! ;-)

Here's another great site with info on rainfall, climate, activities, etc... to help you plan your trip.

Thanks for the website info - it's really helpful, especially since I'm a "first-timer". I can't wait to get there!!!

Greetings! Can anyone tell me if the lava flow map on Arenal.net is still current? As with everyone else I'd like to plan my best chance to see it. Thanks!

They keep it current, cactushugger. It is a money maker for them.

Thanks Keith. That's what I was hoping to hear. However, unfortunately, the observatory lodge didn't have any Smithsonian rooms available for our dates - any other rooms for that matter.
