Volcano's current Best side?

Hello out there,
Is there a way to find out where the current best side for viewing Arenal would be. I can tell from reading the posts here that it varies, but I wonder if there is any way to see or read about it's current eruptions. Also is there a cycle or trend as to the best viewing side so that I have a better chance of choosing a place to stay and be able to see it (if it's not in cloud cover). Thanks to all the great responders to this forum!

You could check with the people over at Arenal.net.

hi Marylentz,

check out the Arenal Observatory Lodge (if you have a 4X4) they have a couple pretty hardcore trails up the volcano. there are also several "low-key" places to stay many have good views. I would check out the arenal website and call around to a few hotels...

Hi Mary
Check out the map on Monteverdeinfo.com
When we were in La Fortuna in Feb the best viewing was between Tabacon and Arenal Paraiso.
