I think you would be better advised to head a bit W (or NW to the super Costalegre.

PS, we love the totally unusual Hot CocoCabanas on the Isla Navidad X the inlet from Barra de Navidad.

Manzanillo is a wonderful destination with great beaches, cafés & hotels In addition a side trip to Colima is a must with it's historic center under the "puffing" volcano. Also trips to waterfalls, Barra de Navidad & Meleque are good side day trips but you may have such a great time you never get out of Manzanillo.

I live in Manzanillo and I can honestly say that I love and hate it at the same time. Manzanillo is a great place to visit if you're looking to be a tourist away from tourists
The beaches are nice, prices are reasonable, and it's a great location to relax and enjoy the sun. However, it is very humid between May and October. Unless you're in a Mirador where the breeze is constantly hitting you, plan on having AC or being in the water if you come during those months. Between November and February you will find ideal weather to vacation. I used to live in Seattle, Washington and if you've ever been there during the beginning of the summer, that's what it's like here during those winter months.
