MA hotel help

I've been going back and forth on hotels for a week or two and in that time the rooms have all booked up the dates i need in January and only the deluxe/honeymoon rooms are available (if at all) for si como no, makanda, la mansion and hotel parador. It is just for my husband and myself- any other suggestions that are nice- that aren't going to cost me $300 a night!!!

Also- has anyone stayed at Hotel Finca Valverde- hotel belmar and monteverde lodge were booked.
Thanks.

Well .... Some other sweet places are Mango Moon ( small , intimate ), Villas Nicolas ( still quite small lovely pool , nice rooms ), Issimo Suites ( small , elegant ), La Posada Jungle( small , close to park ) , Hotel Babaloos Inn (small , closer to Quepos ), Hotel California ( similar area to Babaloos , great views ) , give some of these a try ..... Good Luck !! I believe all are less than $300.00 .

Thanks faithie- Now i'm thinking of doing 3 nights at si como no- i don't want to regret it- and maybe 1 cheaper night at hotel california or mango moon. Your suggestions were great. Is hotel california much closer to the quepos airport- we are going to be in MA area 4 nights- the last day we are taking a 9 a.m. SANSA flight back to sjo so we won't really spend much time there.
I haven't been able to find babaloos inn on the web.

Have you been to si como no- we love the resorts w/the pool w/a slide- (we don't have kids- my husband is just a big kid - i'm just hoping it would be worth it. I wanted more a resort for this last part of the trip. Such deicsions!

The proximity of Hotel California to the airport is not a factor at all , couple of minutes maybe ... I have been to SiComo No and checked out some of their rooms . The "waterslide" is by no means big , and shouldn't really factor in . It is indeed a lovely pool area with great views though . The "largest' places I mentioned are SiComoNo , then Costa Verde , Makanda , then Hotel California , Villas Nicolas( something like that !!)The others are smaller . I could try to find the web-site of Babaloos , but it is a really small place .

Oh !! Just re-read your post , I think SiComo No fits your criteria . It is like a small resort . Lots of services and amenities . Pools , cinema , spa , gift shop , couple of restaurants , I am sure you will love it ! It's all in a beautiful , natural , setting . ( butterfly garden across the street )

You are right- we've decided to just do si como no b/c it is a vacation and i think we'll be happier there- and scale back in other places.

Do you know anything about Hotel Finca Valverde- last spot to book is monteverde.
